about
The term "朦朧詩" translated into english, means something like "Misty Poetry", which i think fits the style of my lyrics quite well. Especially this EP, features a lot of misty and obscure poetry, about nature, winter and of course, topics like love, etc.
This is the first time i used traditional chinese instruments on one of my official records and as you can hear, there is a chinese theme going on in almost every song, sometimes subtly, sometimes quite obvious. In the two songs "Beneath The Ice" and "A Flower's Blade", you can hear the 二胡 (Erhu) and 古箏 (Guzheng), two really beautiful chinese instruments, which i bought in Taiwan last year and still love to play.
The song "Beneath The Ice" also features my first chinese-written poem, which you can hear in the outro of that song.
"Too High To Know" was actually recorded and published in june 2015, but never officially released as part of any EP. And as i somehow really liked it, i didn't wanna waste it and decided to make a remix of it, to put it on this EP, due to the similar sound of the other songs on there.
"You Suit Me", the last song of the EP, ends in a messy wall of sound, creating the perfect finish, for a hopefully satisfying EP.
